The mission of the Partners in Diversity & Inclusion initiative is to help our member companies attract, develop and retain a diverse workforce and to create a culture within the retail real estate industry in which all people are valued.
Partners in Diversity & Inclusion (PIDI) is a forum for ICSC members to constructively discuss the state of diversity in the retail real estate industry and explore how to build more inclusive workplace cultures.
Diversity is the mix of human differences, such as race, gender, age, cultural background, physical abilities and disabilities, religion and sexual orientation.
Inclusion is cultivating a collaborative environment, in which all people feel, and are, valued, to help drive innovation and growth.
Vital to long-term success, diversity and inclusion must be embedded in all business processes.
As our industry evolves and technology continues to change how we do business, ICSC members are diligently working to maintain a competitive advantage, improve their business function and discover new market opportunities. When done well, diversity and inclusion organically create an environment that sparks innovation, encouraging team members to share ideas, help solve problems and offer a perspective that may challenge the status quo.
1. Provide networking and educational opportunities to help our member companies implement successful diversity and inclusion strategies and improve upon practices already in place.
2. Create a repository of D&I best practices, trend information, thought leadership and data relevant to the commercial and retail real estate industry.
3. Establish a network for ICSC diverse members through activities at ICSC regional, national and global conferences
