2010 Outlet Retail Chain Awards named
The room was packed during the awards luncheon at the 2010 VRN Fall Outlet Leasing and Marketing Convention, which drew nearly 300 people, including 110 outlet chain executives. This year 77 companies were nominated for the Outlet Retail Chain Awards, a tribute to the industry’s breadth and depth and continued advancement as an important distribution channel for brands.

Six standouts named
to 2010 Hall of Fame

In 2007, the Council of Outlet Retailers and Developers created the Outlet Hall of Fame to honor those executives who have played - and in some cases still play – an important role in the industry’s success. Six industry leaders were honored this year by being inducted into the latest class.


Simon completes Prime acquisition
The long-awaited closing of Simon Property Group’s acquisition of Prime Retail from Lightstone was finally completed, adding another 20 outlet centers to the SPG portfolio. The acquisition signaled the end of an era as industry pioneer Prime Retail fades from the outlet scene.
