Tanger talks earnings, spending cycles

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers ended 2015 with a number of strong milestones, according to the outlet REIT’s 4th quarter filing last week. Highlights for the 42-center, 14.3 million-sf portfolio include: same-center net operating income up 3.5 percent; average base rent on renewed space up 22.4 percent; portfolio occupancy slightly up at 97.5 percent; average tenant sales flat at $395 psf.... more >>



Empire Outlets 50% leased

With a 2017 opening in sight, BFC Partners said in late January that its 340,000-sf Empire Outlets in Staten Island, N.Y., is 50 percent leased. The most recent to join the line-up is Jewelers on Fifth, which has signed a lease for a 3,817-sf store. Opening set for Des Moines

New England Development said in late January that Outlets of Des Moines in Altoona, Iowa, will open Oct. 21. The 300,000-sf outlet center will be at 801 Bass Pro Drive NW at the intersection of Interstate 80 and U.S. Highway 65, an established destination for entertainment and shopping. RHO expands at Vero Beach

Vero Beach Outlets on Florida’s East Coast became the home of the largest Restoration Hardware Outlet south of Atlanta this week. The store, which was expanded to 31,492 sf from its previous 15,905 sf, offered an extra 30 percent discount to VIP shoppers at the preview party the night before the grand opening, which was held Wed., Feb. 17. 3 tenants join Texas project

Skechers, Express and Guess Factory Store are the first three tenants revealed for Outlets at Corpus Christi Bay, which is scheduled to open on Nov. 3. The project is being developed by Corpus Christi Outlets, a public-private partnership comprising EB Development, Carduner Commercial and the City of Robstown, Texas. Barstow’s new name, signage

New signage went up in January for the outlet center Craig Realty Group purchased in Barstow, Calif., in 2015. Outlets at Barstow is the new moniker for the former Tanger Outlet center that opened in December 1994. Delia joins Mississippi center

Mona J. Delia has joined the Outlets of Mississippi as director of marketing. She will work closely with Kathy Hacksaw, GM of Spectrum Capital’s 300,000-sf Outlets of Mississippi. Delia was most recently VP-communications with the High Point (N.C.) Market Authority, overseeing marketing and communications for the biannual $5.3 billion home-furnishing trade show. Adore Organic Innovation opened in December at Miromar Outlets in Estero, Fla. The 605,537-sf center, developed and still owned by Miromar Development Corp., has expanded three times since opening in 1998.
