Ares buys French centers, MCG involved

Ares Management (NYSE:ARES) said on Feb. 3 that a fund it manages has acquired two designer outlet centers located in the French regional cities of Troyes and Roubaix (above) from Resolution Property for approximately €200 million. Neinver to manage Barakaldo

Madrid-based outlet-center developer Neinver is taking over management of the outlet portion of Megapark Barakaldo, a 128,000-m2 retail park in Spain. The center includes a 64,000-m2 outlet center, as well as big box brands IKEA, MediaMarkt, Decathlon and El Corte Inglés. It is the largest shopping complex in the Basque region. Time Equities buys Simon center in Oregon

New York-based Time Equities said on Jan. 22 that it has acquired Columbia Gorge Premium Outlets in Troutdale, Ore., from Simon. The purchase price was $28.4 million. Now named Columbia Gorge Outlets, the 164,235-sf center is 16 miles northeast of downtown Portland, just off Interstate 84. Nanjing East Outlets opens

Nanjing East Outlets, a joint-venture of The Outlet! Company and WB Outlet Developments, grand opened in Zhenjiang City on Oct. 1, 2015. Although the 239,206-sf center soft-opened in February 2015, the autumn event was timed to coincide with and celebrate the National Holiday in China. Gloria Outlets opens in Taiwan

The retail scene in greater Taipei, capital of the island nation of Taiwan, has a new landmark: The 210,867-sf Gloria Outlets opened by Outlet! Company and Gloria Hotel Group on Dec. 18. Mitsui opens in northern Taiwan

Mitsui Outlet Park Linkou opened in late January in northern Taiwan. The 67,340-m2 outlet center was developed by Mitsui Fudosan of Japan. The developer has opened 12 Mitsui Outlet Parks in Japan, as well as one in Malaysia and another in China. Freeport A’Famosa Outlet opens

Freeport A’Famosa Outlet in Malacca, which soft-opened in November 2015, held a grand opening celebration on Jan. 29.
