NRF: holiday sales grew 4 percent, beat 10-year average

The National Retail Federation reported 2014 holiday retail sales increased 4.0 percent to $616.1 billion, falling narrowly short of the NRF prediction of a 4.1 percent increase. The ICSC had predicted an increase of exactly 4.0 percent. VIA Outlets fund buys sixth center: Landquart

VIA Outlets, an investment fund led by UK-based Hammerson Group, has acquired the 228,300-sf Designer Outlet Landquart. As of today's deadline VRN was unable to determine the identity of the seller. Tanger trimming portfolio by “asset recycling”

Tanger Factory Outlet Centers said in its Q4 2014 earnings report that it was doing some "asset recycling" to improve its portfolio. Tanger has agreed to sell up to five outlet centers to one buyer and sold the first of those, in Lincoln City, Ore., for $39.5 million on Dec. 13, 2014 to Chicago-based Singerman Real Estate, a private investor group. Arizona Mills to add Legoland Discovery in spring 2016

Merlin Entertainments will begin construction in June 2015 on a 60,000-sf Legoland Discovery Center at Arizona Mills in Tempe. The $12 million project will adjoin Merlin's 26,000-sf Sea Life Arizona aquarium attraction, which opened in May 2010.
