The world’s 35 largest outlet centers – those that are 500,000 sf or bigger – are mostly found in North America. Twenty-five of the world’s largest are in the U.S., and three are in Canada. Jones New York to close all outlet stores

Jones New York will close all of its retail and wholesale operations in 2015, the privately held company announced on Jan. 30. The retail side includes 127 stores, most of them in outlet centers in the U.S. and Canada. With an average store size of 3,500 sf, Jones New York outlets are widely distributed across the industry. Tanger gets go-ahead for Daytona outlets

The city of Daytona Beach unanimously approved land-use changes requested on behalf of Tanger Factory Outlet Centers that would clear the way for development of a 380,000-sf outlet center. The changes include development of a 39-acre parcel along the east lanes of Interstate 95 just south of LPGA Blvd., for which Tanger has also filed zoning and site plan applications. Paragon buys land for White Marsh project

Paragon Outlet Partners has acquired 56 acres in White Marsh, Md., and is seeking zoning approval for a 586,000-sf outlet center it will call Paragon Outlets Baltimore. The company plans to open a 425,000-sf phase 1 in 2016 at the junction of Interstate 95 and Rte. 43. The acquisition brought Paragon's parcel at the site up to 83 acres. Site fight comes to light in Winnipeg

Ivanhoé Cambridge said on Jan. 21 that it will break ground this summer on the 385,000-sf Outlet Collection at Winnipeg in Manitoba – but the plan has now attracted a rival in the form of Outlets at Polo Park, a 150,000-sf project announced in January by local developer Shindico Realty. Resolution starts phase 2 at Rosada Fashion Outlet

Resolution Property has begun work on an 86,000-sf expansion of Rosada Fashion Outlet in Roosendaal, Netherlands. The move comes after Resolution successfully closed on a €40 million refinancing of the project.
