Woodbury Common will get $170 million makeover

Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, the world’s largest outlet center and one of the world’s most productive, will undergo an extreme make-over between 2014 and 2016. A 100,000-sf expansion that opens June 20 at Simon Property Group’s Seattle Premium Outlets in Tulalip, Wash., will see the addition of about a dozen new tenants and bigger spaces for several existing tenants. Staten Island’s CB1 approves outlet center

Staten Island's Community Board One has approved the New York Wheel and Empire Outlet project, which will create a 14-acre site with a 620-feet Ferris wheel, outlet mall and hotel. The world’s 35 largest outlet centers – those that are 500,000 sf or bigger – are mostly found in North America. Twenty-five of the world’s largest are in the U.S., and three are in Canada.
