Neinver opens its 5th center in Poland

FACTORY Warsaw Annopol, Neinver’s fifth outlet center in Poland and second in Warsaw, opened on a snowy March 13. The weather didn’t matter to value-loving Poles – some 31,450 came that day, with 3,000 showing up in the first hour. Was Group to lease Rockvale Outlets

The Was Group of North Haledon, N.J., has been retained to handle leasing at Rockvale Outlets in Lancaster, Pa. Mitsui Fudosan plans outlet center in Taiwan

Mitsui Fudosan, which operates 13 outlet centers in Japan as well as one in Ningbo, China, plans to develop an outlet project in New Taipei City, Taiwan. Construction is expected to start in 2015 with the opening scheduled for 2017. Mitsui Fudosan is also developing an outlet center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, which will open in winter 2014. Global investment firm KKR and real estate developer RED Legacy completed their acquisition of Legends Outlets Kansas City (Kan.) on March 14. The seven-year-old project was the object of a bidding war by the industry’s major players, including Tanger Factory Outlet Centers, Craig Realty Group and Macerich. The Outlet Marketing Alliance and Shop America Alliance will launch the inaugural USA Outlet Shopping Festival, a national event to promote outlet shopping throughout the U.S., during Memorial Day weekend, Friday through Monday, May 24-27. By the Numbers

The world’s 35 largest outlet centers – those that are 500,000 sf or bigger – are mostly found in North America. Twenty-five of the world’s largest are in the U.S., and three are in Canada.
