Simon unveiled plans to add stores and restaurants, two hotels, a spa and a parking garage (complete with helipad) to the Woodbury Common Premium Outlets, in Central Valley, N.Y.
The developer wants to add roughly 140,000 square feet of retail space, pushing Woodbury Common’s total store space past the 1 million-square-foot mark, reports the Times-Herald Record. Currently, the property contains about 250 stores.
This would mark Woodbury Common's sixth expansion since its opening, in 1985. Over the years, the center has become a popular destination for tourists, foreign and domestic alike, drawing some 13 million visitors per year.
If the plan is approved, Simon will seek to begin construction next year for completion by the end of 2023.
