Same-store sales at U.S. retailers grew by 4.7 percent for the week ended June 16, according to Econoday's Redbook. This is 0.4 of a percentage point more than the previous week's growth.
Month-to-date sales against the previous month were unchanged, while the full-month year-on-year gain increased by 0.2 of a percentage point, to 4.5 percent, the strongest reading since the May 12 week's yearly peak. Four consecutive weeks of the year-on-year 4 percent-plus sales gains reported in Redbook's same-store sample indicate retail sales strength.
