Five Below was fastest growing U.S. chain in third quarter

November 21, 2017

Some chains may be shrinking their stores or closing unprofitable locations. But not every retailer is on a diet, reports Bloomberg.

Five Below, the teen retailer that sells items priced around $5, is growing fast, reporting an almost 6 percent increase in its store space during the third quarter.

Other chains with more than 500 units that grew by at least 2 percent in the third quarter include Burlington Coat Factory, Ross Stores, Dick's Sporting Goods and Tractor Supply, in that order.

The average increase for the industry was less than 1 percent during the last quarter, Bloomberg reports.
