McArthurGlen said that construction of the £160 million designer outlet in Cannock near Birmingham, the UK’s second largest city, will commence this month.
McArthurGlen Designer Outlet Cannock, a joint venture with Aviva Investors, The Richardson Family and U+I, will span 285,000 square feet of retail space across two phases. Phase I, expected to be completed in 2020, will see 80 brands, a collection of restaurants and cafes, a children’s play area, bike parking for cyclists and 1,400 car parking spaces.
McArthurGlen now operates 24 centers in nine countries. The company is currently expanding two of its existing centers in the UK: Cheshire Oaks near Manchester, and Ashford near London. Earlier this year, the company announced that it will add a second phase to Vancouver Airport in Canada.
