Construction Starts at Finland’s Zsar Outlet Village

March 23, 2018

Construction of Zsar Outlet Village in southeastern Finland has started with most of the earthworks already completed. The first buildings of the 12,000-square-meter phase one of Finland’s first outlet village will be ready for finishing works in May, according to a press release.

The €40 million scheme, located adjacent to the border crossing between Europe and Russia, will open in the fourth quarter of this year. Zsar's key tenants include Armani, Hugo Boss, Guess, Le Creuset, Nike and other brands.

Zsar will feature sustainable and cost-efficient energy technology, where heating and cooling will be produced with geothermal energy. In addition, the energy system will utilize state-of-the-art heat recovery technology for indoor heating and cooling. Geothermal energy will also be used for warming footpaths in order to keep them clear from snow during winter.
