Landlords speed store openings by streamlining lease process

One of the surest ways to speed the leasing process is to use in-house personnel, says Gerald Crump, a Weingarten Realty senior vice president who oversees the central region. “This gives us the ability to make quick decisions and coordinate immediately with our legal group, all of which takes time off the lease-negotiation process.”

A former Macy's store in Richmond Heights, Ohio, is set to become a self-storage facility. DealPoint Merrill, LLC, acquired the 162,200-square-foot building, which sits on nine acres at the Richmond Town Square Mall. JCPenney and Sears anchor the center.
