ICSC launched the P3 Retail Program (formerly known as Alliance) in 1997 to bring about a greater understanding of the positive economic effect the shopping center industry has on communities and to provide a forum to initiate dialogue and develop better working relationships between developers, retailers, brokers, lenders, and local government officials.

  • Networking between local public officials/private industry for deal making and relationship building (non-lobbying)
  • Open dialogue on emerging issues affecting the industry and the quality of life in local communities
  • Idea/best-practice sharing to enhance communities

ICSC has partnered with Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) to stimulate a dialogue between retail development participants, to address the challenges and obstacles of underserved urban markets more comprehensively, and to ultimately facilitate development in those markets.
