Taubman Centers hired Philip J. Morosco as general manager of Northlake Mall, Charlotte, N.C. The enclosed, two-level regional shopping center opens in the fall of 2005. Morosco was general manager of Fair Oaks, a 1.5 million-square-foot regional mall in Fairfax, Va.

The Macerich Co. promoted Terry Gibbons from manager of development for the Westcor division to senior manager of development and leasing for the division’s 16 urban villages and several noncore properties.

The Los Angeles-based Festival Cos. hired Trey Hohman as a leasing associate. Hohman was an actor, screenwriter, and script supervisor at 20th Century Fox. Festival also hired Michael Nichelson as vice president of asset management. Nichelson was a center manager for Jones Lang LaSalle.

Ronald J. Cappello joined Conshohocken, Pa.-based Fameco Real Estate as an associate in the investment sales group. He was senior director of acquisitions at Federal Realty Investment Trust, Rockville, Md.

Combined Properties, Washington, D.C., recruited Scott Peters as executive vice president of asset management. Peters was executive vice president, COO and CFO for Charter Oaks Partners/Rothschild Realty.

Banc of America Securities appointed John P. Case managing director and senior client manager of its real estate investment banking group. He previously managed client relationships as a member of the real estate banking team at Merrill Lynch.

Minneapolis-based Supervalu hired Matthew Desmond as corporate vice president of real estate. He was a director of real estate for Wal-Mart, overseeing domestic property management, lease administration and asset management.

The city of Detroit named Cindy L. Ciura, SCMD, to the newly created post of vice president of retail and marketing. Ciura was vice president of marketing at Schostak Bros. & Co., a Southfield, Mich.-based real estate services firm.

Hopkins Real Estate Group, Newport Beach, Calif., hired Sharon Courtway, CLS, as director of leasing. Courtway oversaw leasing at the Los Angeles-based Festival Cos.

Terry F. Parker was promoted to president of Irvine, Calif.-based Coldwell Banker Commercial REP, from director of retail operations.

Baltimore-based BAA Maryland, which develops and manages the retail at Baltimore/Wash- ington International Airport, hired Rob Hale as development manager and Bridget White as concessions manager. Hale was assistant project manager for Boston-based AMEC Construction Management. White was an office administrator at W.C. & A.N. Miller Cos., a real estate firm based in Washington, D.C.

May Center Advisors, Oak Brook, Ill., recruited Sarah D. Libby as a financial analyst. Libby recently graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where she received a bachelor of science degree in finance.

Richard L. Sternberg, founder and CEO of The Triad Group, a Boston-based retail leasing and brokerage firm, died Aug. 6 after an extended illness. He was 52.
