ICSC HONORED FOR CORPORATE CITIZENSHIP

ICSC received the 2004 Corporate Citizenship Award from the Council of State Governments for its work encouraging retailers to do business in inner cities.

The award, presented Sept. 28 at CSG-West’s annual meeting in Anchorage, Alaska, stems from the ICSC publication Developing Successful Retail in Underserved Urban Markets, which was produced in response to the lack of retailers in many U.S. communities, especially inner cities.

“In the increasingly complex world of state government, the involvement of the private sector in public policy development is critical,” said CSG Executive Director and CEO Daniel M. Sprague in a statement released by ICSC. “These cutting-edge relationships are creating new, best-practice opportunities for states to better serve citizens.”

CSG serves state governments through leadership education, research and information services.
