A study done for a BBC documentary called “Shopology” showed that shopping can be harmful to men’s health. Tests on a man sent to London’s Oxford Street showed his blood pressure rose to dangerous levels. The study found one in five Brits suffer from shop rage while waiting in lines. … Venator Corp., known as the Woolworth Corp. until 1998, is changing its name again, this time to Foot Locker Inc., as the company shifts its focus to athletic goods. Venator completed the shutdown of its Northern Reflections stores in the United States in the second quarter, and negotiations to sell its San Francisco Music Box Company subsidiary are continuing. … Kmart Corp. dropped its “Dare to Compare” advertising campaign after Target Corp. threatened to sue, alleging that the ads listed the wrong prices for Target products 74% of the time. The Kmart campaign uses in-store signs to promote its prices on different products, comparing them with other retailers. … One of Scottsdale (Ariz.) Fashion Square’s tenants is AmeriScan, which offers body scans ranging from $295 to $960, providing customers with color pictures of their hearts, lungs and other internal organs. … Wal-Mart Stores’ Sam’s Club joined with prefab housing company Fleetwood Enterprises Inc. to sell homes through its stores in nine states at discounted prices. Manufactured homes are assembled at a factory and then are transported to a site of the owner’s choosing.
