STEINER, CONTINENTAL PLAN MIXED-USE PROJECTS

Continental Retail Development and Steiner + Associates, both of Columbus, Ohio, are planning six large mixed-use projects scheduled to open in 2003 and 2004.

Continental intends to open two centers in April 2003. West Chester Village, to be located in West Chester, Ohio, will feature 350,000 square feet of retail and entertainment space, plus 400 upscale apartments and 300,000 square feet of office space. Grove City, named after the municipality in Ohio, will include more than 400,000 square feet of retail space, including a Target store, plus seven outparcels on 50 acres of land located east of Interstate 71.

Steiner + Associates is planning four new urban retail projects for the Midwest and Pennsylvania. All will feature a combination of specialty retail, restaurants, entertainment, office, hotel and residential components, and will be designed by Baltimore architectural firm Development Design Group. The first project, ZonaRosa, will be located in Northland, Mo., close to Kansas City, and will feature a 478,000-square-foot town center section with specialty retail and restaurants, and another 500,000 square feet devoted to offices, a hotel and town homes. ZonaRosa is scheduled for an autumn 2003 opening.

Indian Creek Commons in Dayton, Ohio, will feature 680,000 square feet of retail and entertainment, plus additional office and hotel space. Plum Farms, located in Barrington, Ill., will serve the northwest Chicago area with 610,000 square feet of retail and entertainment and another 390,000 square feet of space dedicated to office, hotel and residential space. Cranberry Town Center will be a two-phase project, with 610,000 square feet of retail, restaurant and entertainment space in the first phase; the second phase will add an additional 25,000 square feet of restaurants and a 160,000-square-foot anchor store. These three projects are scheduled for a summer 2004 opening.
