Taubman Centers promoted Steve Kieras to senior vice president. The former group vice president, who has been with Taubman for 14 years, will continue to oversee development.

The Macerich Co. named Julia Ladd senior manager of The Oaks, a 1 million-square-foot regional center in Thousand Oaks, Calif. She was vice president of real estate services at Louisville, Ky.-based Cobalt Ventures, an urban real estate redevelopment firm.

DeBartolo Development, Tampa, Fla., hired Jay Adams as a development officer. Prior to his appointment he was real estate director at Unicorp National Developments, an Orlando, Fla.-based real estate development company.

Bayer Properties, Birmingham, Ala., promoted Darrell Bovee to senior vice president from vice president. He has been with the firm for five years and continues to oversee design and construction. Bayer also hired Paul H. Neuroth, SCSM, as senior leasing agent. He will supervise the Summit lifestyle centers. Neuroth was vice president of leasing, Eastern region, at Madison Marquette.

Craig D. Samson joined Win Properties, a Greenwich Conn.-based owner and developer of freestanding retail, as senior vice president and director of leasing. He was vice president of leasing at New York City-based Mall Properties.

Wang Look Tsui, executive director and head of retail for the Asia region at DTZ Debenham Tie Leung, retired in June. She was with the Singapore-based real estate consulting firm for 23 years and also taught leasing at the ICSC Asia-Pacific School for Professional Development.

CB Richard Ellis hired Alberta Davidson, SCMD, as director of corporate partnership in the retail services group. She will oversee a unit formed to identify sponsorship opportunities for retail and office clients. Davidson was senior vice president of marketing at TrizecHahn. CB Richard Ellis promoted David P. LaPierre to senior vice president of retail, from first vice president. In addition, Annette M. Healey and Sharon Kahan, vice presidents of the urban retail services group, were promoted to first vice president — Healey in the New York City office and Kahan in Chicago.

Greenberg Commercial Corp., an Owings Mills, Md.-based commercial real estate services firm, hired John Hess Jr. as vice president of development and leasing. He will be responsible for Alico Lakes Village, a mixed-use project under way in Fort Myers, Fla. Gustavo E. Arango comes on as vice president and project director. Hess was senior vice director of leasing for Baltimore-based Prime Retail, and Arango was a senior project manager for The Rouse Co.

Buchanan Street Partners, a Newport Beach, Calif.-based real estate investment bank, named G. Ryan Smith to head its newly formed investment sales group. Previously, he was a vice president of investment sales at Secured Capital Corp., a Los Angeles real estate investment bank.

Poag & McEwen Lifestyle Centers, Memphis, Tenn., has named Edward J. Cronin senior vice president of leasing. Cronin was senior vice president of leasing for Simon Property Group.

Simon Property Group promoted Evan Moser to regional director of business development for the New York, New Jersey and Connecticut tri-state area. Moser was marketing director of the 2.1 million-square-foot Roosevelt Field, Garden City, N.Y.

The Mills Corp. and Ivanhoe Cambridge, joint owners of the 1.2 million-square-foot Vaughan Mills, Vaughan, Ontario, hired Carol A. Hyams, SCSM, and Andrea Tushingham as general manager and director of marketing, respectively, for the property. Hyams was general manager of the 1.6 million-square-foot Toronto Eaton Centre, and Tushingham was marketing director for the same property.

Edward Camp, CMD, was named general manager of Freshfields Village, an upscale, mixed-use commercial center. The project is located on Kiawah Island, a 10,000-acre island located 21 miles south of Charleston, S.C. Camp was an account executive for The News & Record, Greensboro, N.C.

Jennifer A. Heller joined Coyote Management, Dallas, Texas, as marketing director of Crossroads Center, an 840,000-square-foot regional mall in Waterloo, Iowa. Heller was president of Heller Marketing Solutions, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

DeBartolo Holdings hired James D. Palermo as senior vice president and general counsel. Palermo was the city attorney for the City of Tampa, Fla.

Linens ’n Things, Clifton, N.J., named Jack E. Moore Jr. president and COO. He was executive vice president and general merchandise manager of home and footwear at Kohl’s.

William C. Schuiteman joined CLC Associates, a Phoenix-based retail engineering, architecture and planning firm, as a project manager. He was zoning-plans examiner in the planning division of Mesa, Ariz.’s development services department.

The Mills Corp. has named Ronald P. Weidner as head of international operations, a newly created position. Weidner will develop the company’s expansion in Spain, Italy and other parts of Europe. Weidner was a founding partner and principal of Atlanta-based WestWind Capital Partners, a privately held real estate investment, management and advisory firm.

Jeffrey R. Silbert, CSM, manager of a series of upscale shopping centers and an industry teacher, died July 5, aged 56. Most recently, Silbert was regional vice president for The Mills Corp., Arlington, Va. During his career he managed The Galleria, Houston and the Forum Shops at Caesars, Las Vegas, among other centers. Silbert taught marketing for the College of Business, at the University of Nevada, and volunteered as an instructor for the John T. Riordan School for Professional Development.
