SCHOLARSHIP TO FUND RETAIL REAL ESTATE LEARNING

John Riordan

The ICSC Educational Foundation is establishing the John T. Riordan Professional Education Scholarship to enable deserving students to attend the organization’s professional development schools.

The program recognizes the contributions to education and professionalism in the retail real estate field made by Riordan, ICSC’s second president and CEO, and more recently its vice chairman, who retired last month after two decades with the organization.

The scholarship provides another element to ICSC’s Educational Foundation, which was established to impart knowledge, skills and best practices within the retail real estate industry.

“John is and always has been passionate about education and was instrumental in starting ICSC’s educational programs, books and even the foundation,” said Michael P. Kercheval, ICSC’s president and CEO. (Riordan, who earlier in his career was a teacher, also revamped SCT in the 1980s.) “There is probably no more fitting person to be recognized with an educational scholarship program than John, nor a more appropriate way to honor John’s contribution to the industry.”

Tax-deductible contributions may be made to the ICSC Educational Foundation and sent to ICSC, 1221 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY, 10020-1099, care of Jodi Uiberall.
