ICSC HONORS 'DISTINGUISHED' MEMBERS BRUNCH

LAS VEGAS — ICSC honored five of its members with Distinguished Service Awards during the Family Brunch held at Caesars Palace during the Spring Convention here.

Honored this year were: Rene F. Daniel, CLS, president of the Daniel Group, Baltimore; Carlos A. Lecueder, AMD, ASM, director of Estudios Luis E. Lecueder, Montevideo, Uruguay; Stephen J. Messinger, senior partner at the law firm of Goodman and Carr, Toronto; Robert G. Nelson, partner, Nelson, Bernstein and Foorman, LLC, Burney, Calif.; and C. David Zoba, senior vice president and legal counsel for real estate at The Limited Inc., Columbus, Ohio.

Daniel was honored for his work as an instructor at ICSC’s School for Professional Development. He formerly served as the Dean of the School of Leasing at the University of Shopping Centers, and is a founding member of ICSC’s Certified Leasing Specialist (CLS) Committee.

Daniel continues to be active in preparing the CLS examination and teaching the review course. A graduate of Columbia University’s MBA program, he is founder of the Daniel Group, a consulting firm that specializes in the leasing of shopping centers and regional malls.

Honoree C. David Zoba

Lecueder received recognition for his work throughout Latin America. He is chairman of this year’s ICSC Conference of the Americas, as well as a member of the MAXI Awards Judging Committee.

Lecueder, whose mall in Montevideo, Uruguay, has won two MAXI awards, is a founding member of ICSC’s Accredited Shopping Center Manager and Accredited Marketing Director programs.

He is a member of ICSC’s Education Advisory Committee and the Distance Learning Advisory Committee. Additionally, he was the first non-Northern American to win a MAXI award.

Messinger was presented an award for his work throughout Canada. He has chaired both the Canadian Convention and the Canadian Law Conference. He has also served as Provincial Director for Ontario.

Messinger currently serves the Divisional Operations chairman for Canada, and is a frequent speaker at ICSC meetings.

Nelson, who was unable to attend the brunch, was also honored for his work as an instructor at the University of Shopping Centers and faculty member of ICSC’s School for Professional Development. He is a member of ICSC’s Distance Learning Advisory Committee and participates extensively as a member of the ICSC Risk Management Committee.

Zoba received credit for his diverse contributions to ICSC as an officer, program chairman, speaker and instructor both locally and nationally.

He presently co-chairs the ICSC Law Conference Program Committee, serves on the Law Committee and was the State Director for Northern Texas.
