The Macerich Co. hired Tracey Davis as leasing manager for Capitola (Calif.) Mall and Northridge Mall, in Salinas, Calif. Davis previously worked for Madison Marquette, the commercial real estate services and investment firm in Washington, D.C. Christine Spoo becomes marketing manager at Empire Mall, Sioux Falls, S.D. Spoo was marketing manager for Larco, a Brainerd, Minn.-based industrial parts manufacturer. The company also named Greg Millsap as assistant manager of Lakewood (Calif.) Center. Millsap managed the Robinsons-May at South Bay Galleria, in Redondo Beach, Calif. Randy S. Berman is promoted to property manager of Greeley (Colo.) Mall. Berman was assistant manager of FlatIron Crossing, Broomfield, Colo. Don Foster, CSM, CMD, formerly manager at Valley River Center, becomes senior manager of Valley River. The company also promoted Skip Kuhn to vice president of real estate, from senior manager.

General Growth Properties promoted David Pratt to senior vice president of asset management, wherein he will oversee the company’s third-party management division. Pratt, who joined GGP in 1999, was vice president of leasing in the same division.

Developers Diversified Realty, Cleveland, recruited Patricia L. Neill, SCMD, as marketing director for Buena Park (Calif.) Downtown. Neill was a retail manager at the Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Galleria, which is owned by Douglas Emmett and Co., a real estate development and services company in Sherman Oaks, Calif.

Commercial Net Least Realty, Orlando, Fla., hired Christopher Peznola as senior vice president to oversee development and acquisitions in its Northeast office. Peznola was chief investment officer of Berkshire Development, a Springfield, Mass.-based real estate investment and development firm.

Kramont Realty Trust appointed Kelly C. Bristow as regional property manager, overseeing operations at nine properties in southern Pennsylvania and New Jersey. Bristow was a regional property manager for Federal Realty Investment Trust.

Retail developer Konover South, Boca Raton, Fla., promoted Gregory Combs to president, from executive vice president.

DeBartolo Holdings hired Thomas W. Nagy as director of marketing. Nagy was a marketing manager for Better Business Forms, Largo, Fla.

Birmingham, Ala.-based Bayer Properties appointed Neal Brock as leasing associate, and Michelle Collier, CMD, and Stacey Ronilo as leasing assistants. The company also hired James F. Spahn, CSM, CMD, as senior marketing manager.

Craig Realty Group, Newport Beach, Calif., named Heather Chancellor marketing director for Lake Elsinore (Calif.) Outlets. Chancellor was a regional sales manager for local publication Inland Empire Magazine.

Delray Beach, Fla.-based Office Depot recruited Steve Odland as chairman and CEO. Odland’s previous positions have included president and CEO of AutoZone, Memphis, Tenn., and COO of Dutch supermarket chain Ahold USA.

Asda, the British supermarket chain owned by Wal-Mart Stores, promoted Andy Bond to president and CEO. Bond, who joined Asda in 1994, was COO.

Tampa-based BSW International recruited James Dawson as an architect. Dawson was a project architect at Hermes Architects, Houston.

Sacramento, Calif.-based Panattoni Development Co. named Jeff M. Pintar director at its recently created retail division. The company also promoted Adon Panattoni to director of its retail division, where he will direct operations in the Southern California area. Gary Muljat was appointed a director for its retail division. He will be based in Sacramento and oversee its Northern California operations.

Amy Phillips joined Warner Construction Consultants, Rockville, Md., as director of marketing and business development. Phillips was vice president of AECOM Leisure Group, Los Angeles.

The REMM Group, an Anaheim Hills, Calif., firm that introduces U.S. retailers to China, appointed Lorie Penniman as president of its subsidiary REMM-China. Penniman is overseeing the leasing of two million square feet of retail space in Beijing and seven million square feet of space in Shenyang, China.

Swedish furniture retailer IKEA named Lynda Mee as store manager for its 366,000-square-foot store in Atlanta, which will open this summer. Mee has worked for IKEA for 12 years, serving as store manager for a unit in Covina, Calif.

RYA Design Consultancy recruited Gordana Jordanovska and Jeffrey Stompor as design directors. Jordanovska, who will work in the company’s San Francisco office, was a principal of Chicago-based Studio G. Stompor, who will work from the firm’s Dallas headquarters, was a senior designer for Chicago-based Houston Wein Associates. Also, Christopher Barriscale joined RYA as partner and managing director of the company’s San Francisco office. He was president of branding and design firm Fitch: San Francisco, a division of New York City-based Fitch: Worldwide.

Marc USA, a marketing and advertising firm Pittsburgh, Pa., hired Tony Montini as senior vice president and director of retail marketing. Previously, Montini was senior vice president of category management at Rite Aid.

Pliskin Realty & Development, a Carle Place, N.Y.-based commercial real estate services company, appointed Diane Taback to be associate director, in charge of marketing, investment property sales, leasing and developing new business relationships. Taback was client advisor for BMW Financial Services of America, Bayside, N.Y.

Key Bank Real Estate hired Jim Waschow and Ashley Short for its new Houston office. Both will hold the title of vice president and senior relationship manager. Waschow managed the underwriting staff for CRIIMI MAE, in its Houston/ Southwestern office. Short was vice president of corporate and investment banking at Wachovia Securities., Charlotte, N.C.

Stephen M. Bowers, CSM, joined real estate development, management and investment firm GMS Realty, Carlsbad, Calif., as COO. Bowers was senior vice president of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Retail Group in San Diego, Calif.

John M. Sullivan joined Las Vegas-based Territory Inc. as president and general counsel. Sullivan was vice president and general counsel of the Las Vegas Dissemination Co.

Baltimore-based Prime Retail hired Lisa A. Chapman as marketing director for Prime Outlets at Lodi (Ohio). Chapman was director of marketing at Columbus, Ohio-based Stanbery Development, LLC., a retail property development company.

Tim Grumbacher, chairman of the board at the Bon-Ton Stores, expanded his role at the York, Pa.-based retailer. Grumbacher was appointed executive chairman of the board and named to its executive committee. The company also hired Robert R. Sears as senior vice president and general merchandise manager for its men’s and home department. Sears was senior vice president and general merchandise manager of the men’s and children’s departments at Saks Department Store Group.

Robert K. Futterman & Associates, New York City, hired Frank S. Volk as executive vice president, to lead the company’s new Las Vegas office. Volk was a managing partner at Blatteis & Schnur Retail Properties, Las Vegas, a retail leasing and land sales company. Futterman also named Ariel A. Schuster and Joshua Strauss managing directors; both were senior directors in charge of tenant and landlord representation.

John M. Crossman was promoted to principal, director of investment services at Trammell Crow Co. Crossman, who was a senior vice president, continues to head the company’s Southeast retail investment sales team for Florida.

Grubb & Ellis Paramount hired Richelle Power as a research analyst. Power was an intern in Merrill Lynch’s Grand Rapids, Mich., office. The company also brought in David Kuepfer as a real estate advisor in its Kalamazoo, Mich., office. Kuepfer was a real estate advisor for Midwest Realty Group, a real estate services firm in Portage, Mich. Ellen W. Boyce joins as an administrative assistant to Chuck King, the company’s industrial advisor and co-director of its corporate account service team. Boyce was an office manager for Prime Development, also in Grand Rapids. Chad Barton comes in as an office advisor in its Grand Rapids, Mich. office. Barton was a real estate advisor for Midwest Realty Group, in Portage, Mich.

Grubb & Ellis Co. recruited Stephen W. Dils as executive vice president and managing director of its Atlanta office. Dils was senior vice president of Houston-based PM Realty Group, where he was director of the firm’s Atlanta region.

David Shulman retired as senior REIT analyst from New York City-based investment bank Lehman Bros. in March. Schulman, who joined Lehman Bros. in 2000, will become a guest lecturer at Baruch College in New York City. David Harris, who was an analyst in Lehman’s REIT group since 1998, succeeds him.

Cheri A. Dolan joined Duke Realty Corp., a Chicago-based commercial real estate development firm, as an executive vice president of development and retail operations in its Chicago office. Dolan was senior regional real estate manager for The Home Depot, overseeing its Midwest region.

KS Associates, an Elyria, Ohio-based civil engineering and land-surveying firm, hired Joseph M. Morbitzer as director of land development services. Morbitzer was director of civil engineering for Cleveland-based Richard L. Bowen + Associates.

Security Source, Andover, Mass., recruited Roy King as CEO and president. King was chairman and CEO of Mercator Software, Wilton, Conn.

Toronto-based Perennial Inc., a retail marketing firm, promoted Joanne Balles to president, from vice president. Jim King, a partner, becomes executive vice president of store design. Gary Oakley was named executive vice president of the company’s creative division. Oakley was a creative director. Peter Zissis becomes CFO. Zissis was a finance executive for Harrowston, a Toronto-based consulting and investment firm.

Darren D. Pitts adds the title of senior vice president to his current position of Western region director of the retail corporate services group of Los Angeles-based CB Richard Ellis.

Scott C. Schuler joined real estate services and investment firm Madison Marquette, Washington, D.C., as vice president of research. Schuler ran his own consulting firm in Odenton, Md. The company also name Hedy M. Veverka vice president of leasing, to focus on its Bay Street retail project, in Emeryville, Calif., and its Bayfair Center, in San Leandro, Calif. Veverka was vice president of leasing for Pier 39 Partnership, in San Francisco. Cheryl Beckel comes in as vice president of leasing. Beckel was vice president of leasing for General Growth Properties. Richard W. Hatem, CLS, is now senior leasing representative. Hatem was director of leasing for The Irvine Co., Newport Beach, Calif.

LaVonna Lumly joined Charles Dunn Co., of Los Angeles, as property manager of Murrieta (Calif.) Town Center. Lumly was property manager for Thomas Properties/Tioga Construction, in Walnut Creek, Calif.

The Sembler Co., St. Petersburg, Fla., named Martin Solomon to be vice president of operations. Previously Solomon was an executive director at Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investments, in Atlanta. The company also hired Amber Overby a director of public relations and community affairs. Overby was an account manager for London-based Brock Communications, working in its Tampa, Fla., office.

The Real Estate Board of New York named Danielle Zimbaro, a director of leasing at New York City-based Cushman & Wakefield, as Most Promising Commercial Salesperson of the Year. During 2004, Zimbaro secured a 40,000-square-foot space for Armani Exchange in New York City, among other deals.

Kay Krill, president of AnnTaylor Stores Corp., New York City, will also become the company’s CEO in October, after J. Patrick Spainhour’s contract as interim CEO expires.

Lapin Consulting Group, Costa Mesa, Calif., hired Jennifer J. Schmidt as a project manager. Schmidt was public relations manager for Donahue Schriber.

Avila Design, Oakland, Calif., recruited Gia L. Sims as an architectural designer. Sims was a job captain in the retail studio of MBH Architects, Alameda, Calif.

Glimcher Realty Trust President Michael Glimcher assumed the additional title of CEO. He succeeds his father, Herbert, who remains chairman of the Columbus, Ohio-based REIT.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based The Macerich Co. hired Leanne B. Mouw as

senior manager and real estate counsel. Mouw was an associate at Los Angeles-based law firm Heller, Ehrman, White & McAuliffe. Also, Nicole M. Schmitt, CMD, joined Macerich as senior marketing manager for The Village at Corte Madera (Calif.) and Somersville Towne Center, Antioch, Calif. Schmitt was marketing director for Stonestown Galleria, San Francisco, when Macerich managed the property.

Phoenix-based Feldman Mall Properties named Tamera D. Norwood, CLS, senior leasing representative of its national portfolio. Norwood was a leasing executive for The Mills Corp.

Lauren A. Meimbresse joined Charlotte, N.C.-based Aston Properties as a leasing representative. Meimbresse was a marketing, management and leasing associate at Tribek Properties, Charlotte.

Continental Real Estate Cos., Columbus, Ohio, recruited Brett A. Robinson as vice president of retail development. Robinson was vice president of real estate at Chico’s FAS.

Architecture firm Carter & Burgess promoted Craig Hale to principal from vice president and national director of retail stores. The firm also promoted James R. Kimball Jr. to associate principal from vice president and managing principal.

First Colony Capital, a real estate investment firm in Charlotte, N.C., hired Ira Slomka as vice president of investment services. Slomka was vice president of WB Realty Group, Chicago.

The MGHerring Group has promoted Gar Herring to executive vice president. Herring, the son of the firm’s founder, M.G. (Buddy) Herring, was vice president of development.

Jason R. Eisenberg, a business management graduate of Tulane University, was hired by Phoenix-based Eisenberg Co. as a broker and leasing agent.

Cleveland-based Zeisler Morgan Properties promoted Shannon P. Blackwell to president and COO from senior vice president of finance.

Washington, D.C.-based Combined Properties hired Marianne Lowenthal as executive vice president of mixed-use development. She was executive vice president of Los Angeles-based Bond Cos.

Allen Brown, Hunt Broyhill, Charles Campbell and Jim Rogers formed Colony Capital Partners, a Charlotte, N.C.-based real estate investment firm. Brown remains chairman of the Charlotte real estate firm he founded, First Colony Corp. Broyhill is still CEO of Broyhill Asset Management and president of Broyhill Investments, both based in Lenoir, N.C.

Robert K. Futterman & Associates, a New York City-based retail brokerage firm, promoted Sal Ferrigno to managing director. Ferrigno, who joined RKF in 2004, was a senior director. RKF promoted Robert Draizen to managing director, from senior director.

David H. Morriss joined Casto Lifestyle Properties, Sarasota, Fla., as director of tenant development. Morriss will oversee all tenant-related design and construction. He was director for tenant design and development for Glimcher Development, Columbus, Ohio.

Yum! Brands appointed Rick Carucci as CFO. Carucci was executive vice president and chief development officer.

Feldman Mall Properties hired Thomas E. Wirth as CFO. Wirth was CFO of SL Green Realty Corp., a New York City-based office REIT.

AnnTaylor Stores Corp., New York City, appointed Linda Huett to its board of directors, where she will serve on its compensation committee. Huett is president and CEO of Weight Watchers International.

The Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Society named Genny Spies, an associate at Trammell Crow, as its “Rookie of the Year.” The award honors professionals active in the industry for less than two years. Spies completed more than 24 transactions for Trammell Crow between November 2003, when she joined the firm, and the end of 2004.

Raymond and Associates, a Northfield, Ill., real estate developer, hired Jerry Nanna as CEO, promoted Robert Moravec to executive vice president, and moved Michael Wojcik up to vice president and CFO. Nanna was a senior vice president for Aon Corp., a global financial services firm; Moravec was a senior vice president; and Wojcik was a vice president of finance.

Ann Baumann joined Next Realty, Northfield, Ill., as director of leasing, managing tenant relations in the Midwest. Baumann was an associate for Grubb and Ellis.

Columbia, S.C.-based developer Edens & Avant promoted Tracy Jones to vice president of marketing. Jones, who joined Edens & Avant in March 2004, was director of retailer communications.

May Department Stores, St. Louis, Mo., appointed John Dunham as chairman and CEO, ahead of its anticipated merger with Federated Department Stores. Dunham has been president since 2001, when he took over the title after Eugene Kahn gave up that position to become chairman.

Developers Diversified Realty, Cleveland, Ohio, hired Paul Rappaport, CSM, as general manager for Phoenix (Ariz.) Spectrum Mall, a 1.1 million-square-foot enclosed regional center. Rappaport previously worked for CBL & Associates Properties, Chattanooga, Tenn., as a general manager for properties in New York and Alabama. DDR also recruited Francis Xavier Gonzales as regional manager for the 15 shopping centers that the company recently acquired in Puerto Rico. Gonzales was general manager for Plaza Carolina (Puerto Rico) Mall, a center owned by Simon Property Group.

Colliers Seely International hired John M. Beaney as senior vice president of retail leasing and sales. Beaney was senior vice president of the western region for San Diego, Calif.-based Katz and Associates, a brokerage firm that focuses on tenant representation.

Jeffrey Stone joined Tivoli Audio, a Boston-based, high-end home electronics retailer, as CEO. Stone was CEO of Tweeter Home Entertainment Group, which also sells home electronics.

Forest City Enterprises, Cleveland, Ohio, promoted Lawrence R. Klein to vice president of commercial development. Klein, who joined Forest City in 1988, was director of commercial development.

John Liu joined CLC Associates, a Salt Lake City-based an architecture, engineering, and planning firm. Liu has a master’s graduate from the University of Utah.

Noodles & Co., Boulder, Colo., hired Kevin Reddy as president and COO. Reddy was COO for Denver-based Chipotle Mexican Grill.

Brookfield, Wis.-based NAI MLG hired Mark Harris as a sales associate for its Appleton, Wis., office. Harris was a legal affairs manager for Enzymatic Therapy of Green Bay, Wis.

Uniondale, N.Y.-based Arbor Commercial Mortgage recruited Guy Milone as general counsel and senior vice president. Milone was senior real estate counsel for Sterling Financial Group, in Manhasset, N.Y. The company also promoted Walter Horn to director of compliance, from general counsel and secretary.

Stephen Berliner joined New York City-based GVA Williams as executive vice president. Berliner oversaw the downtown Manhattan office of CB Richard Ellis.

Anchor Commercial Real Estate Services, Charleston, S.C., hired Michael Elmore as an associate. Elmore was an associate for Southwestern Realty Group, Charleston, S.C.

Paul Rogozinski joined Veritas Realty, of Indianapolis, as a retail leasing and sales specialist.

Thomas Coughlin, a director on the board of Wal-Mart Stores resigned in March. Coughlin, who sat on three board committees, including one for planning and finance, was also a vice chairman of the company.

The Home Depot, Atlanta, promoted Tom Taylor to executive vice president of Home Depot Stores, to oversee the northern, southern and western store divisions, which were centralized in Atlanta. Taylor was president of The Home Depot’s eastern division of stores.

Ann Taylor Stores Corp., New York City, promoted Barbara K. Eisenberg to executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary. Eisenberg has been senior vice president, general counsel and secretary since 2001, when she joined the company.

Winn-Dixie Stores, Jacksonville, Fla., hired Tom Robbins as senior vice president of merchandising. He was executive vice president of sales and marketing for Price Chopper, a subsidiary of Kansas City, Kan.-based Associated Wholesale Grocers.

Grocery chain Wm Morrison Supermarkets, Bradford, England, announced executive shakeups in March. Martin Ackroyd quit as finance director. Meanwhile, the company promoted Bob Stott, joint managing director, to the newly created post of chief executive. Also, David Jones was named deputy chairman of the grocer, from non-executive director.

Denver-based Mexican fast-casual chain Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc. named General Counsel Montgomery “Monty” Moran to the position of president and COO. He will report to founder and CEO Steve Ells. Moran succeeds Kevin Reddy, who left the chain to become president and COO at Boulder, Colo.-based Noodles & Company. Chipotle, which operates about 425 stores, is a subsidiary of Oak Brook, Ill.-based McDonald’s Corp.

Phoenix-based PETsMART named Rod Geant senior vice president of real estate and construction. Geant was vice president of real estate and construction, and joined the company in 2004.

Paula West was promoted to vice president of brand merchandising at Davaco, a Dallas-based retail services firm. West, who joined Davaco in 2002, was director of brand advertising.

General discount merchandise store operator Fred’s, Memphis, Tenn., appointed Mary McNabb and Gerald Thompson to its board of directors for two years. McNabb is executive vice president and director of the Mowbray Group, a retail industry consulting firm. Thompson is former senior vice president of pharmacy services for Eckerd Corp., a former J.C. Penney subsidiary.

Bruce Besanko, former vice president of finance for Minneapolis-based Best Buy, joined South Deerfield, Mass.-based Yankee Candle Co. as chief financial officer. Besanko replaces Robert Spellman, who is retiring.

Steven Scheinfeld will spearhead the new Corporate Real Estate Group at New York City-based law firm Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP. Scheinfeld’s 20 years in the industry include experience in securities offerings, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, joint ventures and financing.

Glen Rock, N.J.-based retail brokerage firm The Goldstein Group promoted Chuck Lanyard to director of brokerage services. Lanyard, who joined the firm in 1997, also heads the company’s restaurant division as well as its “Team Paramus,” which focuses on leasing in the Paramus, N.J., market. In his career, Lanyard has worked for the Levey Companies, Paragano Enterprises and the Archie Schwartz Co.
