The Woodmont Co., Fort Worth, Texas, has hired Carol Bracken as general counsel and president of its investment services division and Bernard McAuley as vice president of investment sales, two newly created positions borne out of Woodmont’s current restructuring. Bracken will concentrate on overseeing the company’s investment division, while McAuley will be responsible for expanding on revenue opportunities through sales and financing activities for Woodmont and its clients.

The King of Prussia (Pa.) Mall has named Diane Oaks as director of marketing and Deborah Tageson as manager of retail operations. Oaks, who will oversee advertising and marketing of the facility, previously served as vice president of marketing for Sesame Place as well as director of public relations for Sea World in San Diego. Tageson, who will be responsible for in-house specialty leasing, customer relations, security and facilities management, comes to King of Prussia after spending several years with J.C. Penney in various capacities, most recently as store manager of the company’s Cherry Hill, N.J., facility.

Glimcher Properties Limited, Columbus, Ohio, an affiliate of Glimcher Realty Trust, named Bradley K. Cornell manager of the Great Mall of the Great Plains. Cornell, who previously served as general manager of Glimcher’s New Towne Mall in New Philadelphia, Ohio, will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the 800,000-square-foot facility in Olathe, Kan.

The Los Angeles office of CB Richard Ellis has named Bill Lloyd to the position of managing director, retail services. Lloyd will be responsible for the integration and expansion of retailer representation assignments throughout North America.

The Dallas-based Weitzman Group announced that David Stukalin has been promoted to senior vice president of its Houston office. Stukalin, who joined the company in 1997 and was named its “rookie of the year” in 1998, will handle all aspects of commercial real estate brokerage in the Houston area, with a focus on retail properties and tenant representation.

The J. Jill Group, Quincy, Mass., has promoted Olga Conley to the position of president of corporate services. Conley will continue to serve as the company’s CFO and will be responsible for managing their financial and information systems. She signed on with J. Jill in 1991, and is said to have made “tremendous contributions” to the retailer’s growth and financial stability over the past decade.

Simon Property Group, Indianapolis, promoted Drew Sheinman to president of its Simon Brand Ventures division. Sheinman will be responsible for overseeing that division’s business-to-consumer initiatives as well as the parent company’s e-commerce initiatives.

S.R. Weiner & Associates, Chestnut Hill, Mass., announced that Brian Sciera has joined the company. Sciera previously worked for Gap as director of northeast real estate at a time when Gap was said to have embarked on a strong expansion program, according to the company. Sciera will assist with development and leasing.

The Minneapolis-based Opus Northwest promoted Tim Murnane to vice president/general manager in charge of its Minneapolis real estate operations. Murnane, who has been with the company since 1984, will oversee all projects and activities in the Minneapolis area.

CRES Development, Lynnfield, Mass., has hired Paul S. Martin, who will serve as the company’s CFO. CRES also named Fred P. Ireton as director of property management and construction.

The Crosland Group, Charlotte, N.C., has introduced five new people to the company. Garland Hughes was named as senior leasing associate, Dan Wendover as development manager, Charles Thrift as leasing associate, Traci Gilbert as financial manager and Holly Hess as property manager.

DMK Building Professionals, Tustin, Calif. announced the hiring of three new employees. John Connolly was named as project manager, and will be responsible for management and direction on DMK projects. Also, Vito Carbonara and Cody Qualls signed on as estimators, where they will assist in preconstruction activities such as budgeting and planning, bidding and pricing of construction projects.

MBK Architects announced the hiring of Raul Anziani to its Alameda, Calif., studio. The company expects that Anziani, with 20 years of diverse experience in varying projects, will strengthen MBK by expanding its shopping center portfolio.

Loblaw Cos., Toronto, appointed John A. Lederer to the position of president. Lederer had been executive vice president of the company since 1996, and had a key role in its acquisition of Provigo Inc. in 1998. He has been with Loblaw since 1976.

JDN Realty Corp., Atlanta, named Donald M. Carr as the new senior vice president. Carr, who previously served as director of development for Ahold Real Estate, will be responsible for the development of shopping centers throughout the eastern United States.

The Seattle-based Tarragon Development Co. has hired Angela L. Humphreys to serve as its corporate counsel. Humphreys joins the company after spending three years with the Nathanson Group, also in Seattle.The two sections of the test are combined to create a single score. Failing candidates will be required to retake the entire examination. Candidates will be required to pass the examination in order to receive the designation.

Winn-Dixie Stores, Jacksonville, Fla., appointed Stephen T. deRiesthal to the position of regional director of real estate. deRiesthal, who previously served as the Southern area real estate manager for Blockbuster, will oversee one-half of the company’s division real estate managers.

Williams Jackson Ewing, Baltimore, announced three new hirings at the company. Michael D. Smith was appointed to the position of business development assistant, where he will be responsible for identifying business prospects and heading the presentation and communication process. Also, Laurence F. Oster was signed on as a leasing assistant, and Meghan A. Sullivan was appointed to the position of leasing administration assistant.

The R.V.I. Group in Stamford, Conn. hired Yan Yang to be their senior counsel and corporate secretary. Yang previously spent two years at IBM Credit Corp., and received her juris degree from Columbia Law School in 1995.

Cocowalk, Coconut Grove, Fla., has promoted Julie Katz to director of marketing. Katz will oversee all aspects of marketing, advertising and public relations for the lifestyle center.

Gotham Construction Co., New York City, named John Giammarella as executive vice president and Donald Denardo as general superintendent. Giammarella is a veteran of approximately 40 projects ranging from Beth Israel Medical Center to BancOhio National Bank to the Permanent Mission of India,

while Denardo has 30 years of industry and construction experience to his credit. Denardo will be responsible for all field operations, logistics, scheduling and labor union issues with the company.

The Forbes Co., Troy, Mich., has named James Gerety general manager of its Somerset Collection, where he will be in charge of overseeing the center’s day-to-day operations. Gerety had previously worked as an assistant general manager for Fairlane Town Center, Dearborn, Mich., as well as the Mall of Short Hills in New Jersey.

New York City-based UrbanAmerica named Edward S. Scott as vice president of development. Scott will be responsible for directing the company’s real estate development strategy. Scott previously served as deputy director of the Washington, D.C., Government Office of Property Management and as assistant commissioner for the NYC Department of Citywide Administrative Services.

The National Network of Commercial Real Estate Women (NNCREW) announced its new board of directors at its annual convention in Kansas City. Emily Magal of CREW Washington, D.C. was named president, replacing Sally Taylor of CREW Atlanta, while M. Maureen Anders of CREW Arizona was expected to stay on the board as immediate past president. Added to the board of directors was Alex Cole of Chicago Real Estate Executive Women; Judith Levine of CREW Columbus ; Joan C. Rusoff of Philadelphia CREW; Deborah Quok of San Francisco CREW; and Sally Wilson of Washington, D.C., CREW, while Marilyn Herzberg of Minnesota CREW and Sarah Kelly of Orlando CREW remained on the board. Also, Eliza Solender of Dallas CREW will serve as chairwoman of the NNCREW Foundation while Linda Hollemon was to continue to serve as executive vice president and CEO of NNCREW’s headquarters in Lawrence, Kan.

The Daniel Group, Baltimore, announced that Mark H. Daniel has signed on with the company as a leasing associate. Daniel, who previously worked for the Baltimore-based Record & Tape Traders, will initially be responsible for work on the Coventry Mall in Pottstown, Pa., and the Ft. Steuben Mall in Steubenville, Ohio, both of which are in the process of being remerchandised and re-leased.

Limited Real Estate, Columbus, Ohio, a division of The Limited Inc., has promoted Michael Ellerman to vice president of national real estate management. Ellerman, who joined Limited Real Estate in 1999, will be responsible for the development and implementation of systems and processes to maximize the performance of the company’s retail real estate assets. The company also announced the hiring of Linda Eddy as vice president of real estate, West Region. Eddy, who comes to Limited Real Estate after serving as regional director of real estate at Pacific Sunwear, will work with the company’s western region directors.

S.R. Weiner & Associates, Chestnut Hill, Mass., announced that Lisa Butler has joined the company as a new leasing representative. Butler, who will be responsible for acquiring tenants and negotiating leases for a select number of the company’s community center properties, comes to S.R. Weiner after serving in similar roles at the Flatley Co. and Stop & Shop Cos.

Ernst & Young, Dallas, has appointed Cooper Stuart as the inaugural leader of the company’s newly established National Real Estate Capital Markets Desk. Stuart, who has been in the real estate industry for more than 20 years, will be responsible for helping the department build and maintain institutional capital relationships on a national level.
