UNVEILS NEW BENCHES
Landscape Forms of Kalamazoo, Mich., provider of outdoor commercial furnishings, has introduced the Arcata line of benches, designed by artist and furniture designer Kipp Stewart. Stewart's first design for the company, Arcata benches feature a cantilevered arch frame that clears the ground to support and lift the square seat form. REHRIG ROLLS OUT CART BASKET
Plastic shopping cart supplier Rehrig, Richmond, Va., has introduced a new shopping cart basket that can be sold with one of four available chassis. The Vista basket offers a one-piece, no-fasteners design and patented top ring that attaches the basket to the frame, and is compatible with RF-based security systems. An antitheft chassis is also available, as is Microban, an antimicrobial product protection that inhibits the growth of bacteria and mold. Minuteman International, Addison, Ill., has introduced a specially adapted critical filter vacuum system that recovers liquid mercury and cleans mercury contaminated soil and air, both dry and liquid forms. The modular four-element system allows users to tailor their machine for their specific use. The basic unit, MRS 1, includes an easily disposable liquid trap, disposable paper bag and a charcoal filter module with timer to monitor charcoal filter life, for liquid mercury recovery. The MRS 2 is designed for recovering mercury-contaminated dust; the MRS 3 is a basic unit with an absolute filter for mercury vapors and particulate matter. A new cart corral called Nex-Ten is available now from McCue Corp. of Salem, Mass. Nex-Ten is McCue's strongest cart corral to date, made with water-ballasted barriers redesigned to eliminate trash buildup and a new stronger convex-shaped side panel. The roof has been made steeper pitched to handle heavier snow loads and is an opaque white to keep the unit cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, according to the company.
