1998 MAXI Awards

1998 MAXI AWARDS PROGRAM

What's in Store

General Growth Properties
Chicago

General Growth created a comprehensive, coordinated package of information for its leasing agents to use in educating retailers about the company and its properties. Leasing agents could customize it for individual retailers with specific project information, but the core of the package was the company's 1997 annual report, which conveyed "What's in Store" for General Growth, its business partners, and its shareholders. Other elements included a presentation folder, project sheets for each property, a portfolio map, a corporate personnel list and other inserts. For maximum impact and recall, the same graphics, photographs and color scheme (black, white and metallic gray) were used consistently throughout all components of the leasing package -- as well as in the company's advertising, Website, and graphics at its ICSC Spring Convention leasing booth. The efficient package prepared agents well for their appointments. The company distributed 2,000 leasing packages at the convention, mailed 15,000 annual reports to shareholders and others requesting information and sent another 108 out in response to reader inquiries stimulated to date by one of four ads.

Professional recognition to: John Bucksbaum, executive vice president; Mary Kiley, senior vice president, marketing; Linda Akins, vice president, corporate communications; Chris Conyers, Conyers Design.
