Special Industry Groups (SIGS)

What is a SIG?
Special Industry Groups (SIGs) were created by the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) to give members with similar professional specialties the opportunity to exchange insight and ideas and keep themselves informed about current developments in their Industry.
The activities of the SIGs, planned by ICSC members and staff, provide clear indication of the diverse interests and needs of ICSC members. Through participation in SIGs, you can help design what, in essence, are small professional networks within the broader ICSC Global membership.
All SIGs provide valuable "take home" information and ideas that you can apply immediately to your business.
Typically SIGs are held in conjunction with another ICSC event such as an Idea Exchange or Regional conference, but can be a free-standing event.
SIGs are a benefit of membership. If you are an ICSC member you are eligible to participate in any SIG at no additional cost.
If you are not a member of ICSC there is a $50.00 fee for each SIG.
How many different SIGs are there?
What is the Format for a SIG?
SIGs can be held in a variety of formats which include:
- Townhall Meetings
- Roundtable Discussions
-
Hollow Square Discussion Group
- A list of talking points are handed out and a facilitator keeps discussion flowing. - Panel with interactive discussion
Are there fees to attend a SIG?
If an attendee is registered for the Regional Conference or Idea Exchange/Deal Making and is an ICSC member there is no separate fee to attend a SIG. You must be an ICSC member to attend a SIG at no cost.
If someone is not registered for the event and/or NOT an ICSC member there is a $50.00 fee To attend a SIG.
Why Should I Participate in SIGs?
SIGs provide a unique opportunity to be on the pulse of the most current and up to date information in the industry. SIGs give you an advantage over others by being connected to a Global Network of Industry Professionals you can use as a resource to share ideas with and enhance your business endeavors.
How Do I Become Involved With SIGs?
There are several ways to get involved. These included:
- Serving on a Global or local SIG Committee
- Acting as a SIG facilitator
- Being a sponsor for a SIG
To become involved in any capacity simply complete the SIG Volunteer Participation form which can be found on the ICSC website. You will then be contacted to determine the best way for you to participate.
