Available Shopping Center Space for FEMA

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) a division of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) may need to lease empty shopping center space, (particularly empty big box stores) for immediate, medium, and long-term housing for victims of Hurricane Katrina. FEMA has estimated that over 500,000 people will be in need of housing. Specifically FEMA is seeking space in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, Alabama, and Georgia. FEMA has asked ICSC to collect and catalog this information on their behalf. ICSC does not know exactly how much space FEMA needs to lease nor do we know the terms and conditions under which FEMA will lease space. Once the information has been collected and cataloged it will be turned over to FEMA and FEMA will contact the owners of the empty space directly.

This is the only information ICSC has at this time on this program so please do not call ICSC. As more information becomes available we will email it to you. In the meantime, if you have empty space that could be leased by FEMA for housing please complete the form below and then click either the 'Save and Exit' button or 'Save and Submit Another' button.
