Jason Richard Archer
I am majoring in finance and real estate and pursuing a career specializing in commercial real estate valuation, acquisition and investment analysis.
To do so, I intend on starting in the brokerage segment of the industry to learn from the ground-up how to work with clients and put deals together. I am the President of the FSU Real Estate Society and seek to increase exposure of FSU students with professionals to help build lasting relationships. I think that real estate is one of those industries where relationships are key, where you do business based on a handshake and your success is highly dependent on your reputation for being honest and dependable. As I enter the real estate industry, I aspire to work with a growth-oriented, progressive and highly ethical company.
To gain familiarity and earn experience in the industry, I currently work part-time as a marketing assistant for a local commercial brokerage firm and as a research assistant for a commercial appraisal firm. I attended the 2010 ICSC ReCon event in Las Vegas and the 2010 Florida Conference in Orlando, and plan on attending more events in the year to come. ICSC events offer invaluable networking and relationship building, and an excellent way for students to learn and witness deal-making first hand. Before shopping somewhere I always try and ask myself who I am supporting. I prefer to support locally owned, smaller businesses or franchises. I love trying new things and eager to experience other cultures.
Go Noles!

April Arroyo
My name is April Arroyo and I am a junior attending Baruch College, majoring in Real Estate Development.
Although I knew I wanted to study real estate when I began college, my interest in the industry increased after I interned with a community based non-profit. During my internship, I was able to gain knowledge of housing development and market new affordable cooperative apartments. While my internship primarily focused on housing development, it sparked my interest to learn about various other fields in real estate. I wanted to know more on the processes involved from the beginning of a development project, to the very end. During the remainder of my time in college, I plan to join the Undergraduate Real Estate Club. I also aim to obtain my real estate salesperson license by the time I graduate. Ultimately, I hope to use my knowledge in real estate development to help and benefit neighborhoods in New York City.

I am a senior at Indiana University graduating with a degree in Finance- Real Estate in May 2011.
I first entered the real estate industry in 2007 as a leasing consultant and in 2009 moved on to become a property manager. The past summer I worked for a mortgage banking company, helping underwrite FHA loans. The Real Estate Program at IU has provided further education in the field. Courses have focused specifically on financing and valuing projects through hands on activities and projects. I was even given the opportunity to participate in a case study in New York City hosted by Cornell University. My previous experience coupled with my current education in valuing cash flows have resulting in an immense passion for real estate and I look forward to pursing it as a career.
Besides real estate, I was involved in several organizations outside of the school. I have been a volunteer leader for young life ministries for the past four years. Additionally, I have been an active member of my sorority and served as our activities char my junior year. I also have a huge passion for traveling; I spent the spring and summer of 2010 in Italy studying abroad and then traveling. I enjoy painting, reading, and playing golf in my free time.

I am a senior at Villanova University, studying Finance and Real Estate from Stormville, New York.
I began to take an interest in real estate prior to my years at Villanova when I had an interest in quantitative concepts, economics and drafting architecture drawings. I decided early on in my years at Villanova that these skills could all be raveled into a career path, and I chose to study finance and real estate. At Villanova I have shown my enthusiasm for my areas of study by taking on leadership roles on campus and serving on the executive boards for both the Fixed Income Society and the Real Estate Society. During the summer of 2010 I had the opportunity to intern in Commercial Real Estate- Credit Risk for Deutsche Bank in New York. Here I learned that I have a passion for real estate finance.
Outside of class and work, I like to partake in activities that keep me fit, such as running, skiing and other recreational activities. I am also an AMA licensed R/C jet pilot and enjoy flying on a nice sunny day.

Benjamin L. Hochron
Benjamin Hochron, from Edison, New Jersey, is a senior majoring in Real Estate Finance & Urban Economics at the University of Connecticut.
In addition to his work with the Student Managed Fund, he’s coauthoring a Market Research Study for the UConn Real Estate Center, and is also the President of the UConn Real Estate Society, as well as a student member of ICSC.
Benjamin’s approach to life and business is based on a principle he calls “applied curiosity”. For example, when airplanes fascinated him from the ground he decided to learn to fly and obtained his pilots license; and as a teenage sailor inquisitive about the sea, he became the youngest crewmember to strap on a harness and race a sailboat to Bermuda. He takes calculated risks to best understand what interests him, and then works hard to achieve goals. Years ago he decided to focus his career in the business of real estate finance.

I am a Real Estate major in my final year at DePaul University. I chose to pursue this course of study because of the large number of fields which relate to real estate and my interest in many of these fields.
From urban planning to property valuation, I have always had the desire to learn more about the real estate industry. When I first entered the real estate program at DePaul, I was not sure which career path I planned to follow after graduation, but with the broad range of classes offered by DePaul for Real Estate Majors, I have been given information and knowledge useful in all of these careers. While a few career paths still interest me, with the knowledge I have gained, I am sure that I will be successful in any career I choose.
Beyond the Real Estate Program, I have learned many relevant business skills at DePaul in my time here, and the Real Estate Center has been a very effective tool in networking with faculty, other students, and professionals in the real estate industry. I am thankful that I was able to pursue my real estate degree at DePaul University with the helpful staff of the Real Estate Center and the motivated students in the program making it an experience which will stay with me throughout my career.

Gavin M. Niemi
My name is Gavin Niemi and I am a 4th year student double majoring in Real Estate and Finance at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Born and raised in Green Bay, WI, I have had a lifelong passion for anything real estate. I have always had a very strong interest in architecture and often spent a lot of time creating my own sketches. In addition to my interest in architecture I have always thoroughly enjoyed any quantitative subject in school. Thus, a career in real estate combines several different things I enjoy doing, making it the perfect career path for me.
As part of an international real estate course at my university, I recently attended Expo Real, an international commercial real estate conference in Munich, Germany. At the conference I was able to learn a great deal of information about the international real estate field and meet with many professionals working in the field. This upcoming spring semester I will be interning at Dominium Development and Acquisitions as a development intern in Minneapolis, MN. Upon graduation from school, I hope to enter the commercial development field where I can continue to learn about the field and develop my professional skills. It is my ultimate career goal to open up my own real estate firm to work on my own niche development projects. My hope is to find projects associated with New Urbanism and the revitalization of urban sub centers, projects that benefit society in numerous ways.
In my spare time, I enjoy hanging out with friends, playing many different sports and closely following Badger football and basketball. I am excited for this upcoming winter because I will once again be able to snowboard and also will be traveling to Pasadena to watch the Badger football team play in the Rose Bowl.

I am a motivated and driven individual seeking big things in my future. I am a 21 year-old senior student graduating from CSUN this upcoming May.
I will be receiving two degrees: one in finance and one in real estate. I have been on the Dean's List for the past 5 semesters and have maintained a 3.5 GPA throughout my time at CSUN. I attended Los Angeles Baptist Junior/Senior High School and graduated with honors and achieved a cumulative 4.285 GPA. I also passed the Spanish Level 4 Advanced Placement Exam. I am currently employed at City National Bank as a teller. I have been with City National for 4 months now. I am enjoying my time there and am learning valuable information about the policies and procedures of banking. I think this job will help give me insights into how the business world functions.
In terms of interests, after college, I would like to work for one full year in an entry level position, hopefully in consulting. After one year has elapsed, I would like to pursue my Masters degree. I am not currently sure where I would like to apply but I'm sure at least one school will grab my attention. I have many passions and feel like I would like to be constantly attaining knowledge. I am always seeking out and preparing for the future so that when it arrives I'll be prepared.

I was born in New Delhi, India in 1987 and moved to the U.S. at the age of three. My family and I have lived in the San Fernando Valley for most of my life.
After I graduated from High School in 2005, I joined my uncle’s Real Estate firm to try my hand in the booming Real Estate market. After learning the ropes of the trade, I branched out on my own and eventually was hit with the inconsistency of the business. This is the point in time when I realized the importance of further education. Immediately I enrolled myself at Pierce College, and began my path towards CSUN. A year and a half later I was admitted to CSUN where I began my double major in Finance and Real Estate. The experiences I have been apart of over the last couple years of my life while finishing up my Bachelors, will be with me forever, and I can never stress enough how important an education is for a person’s total outlook on life. It changes you as a person.
I am excited to be graduating next semester, and to begin a new chapter in my life. I currently work part-time at Wells Fargo, and will become a full-time banker upon graduation. At which point, my plan is to study for the GMAT and be admitted to the University of Southern California MBA program. The future is very broad, with many different options, and all we can do is make the best decisions with the information we have presently.
Sincerely,
Karan Singh
