The Schurgin Family Foundation Scholarship provides tuition assistance to undergraduate students who are studying retail real estate or a related field. Applicants for this scholarship must demonstrate academic excellence as the scholarship is intended to help qualified students pursue an education that will lead them into productive careers in commercial real estate.
The Schurgin’s joined ICSC in 1979 and have been active members ever since. Their company is the The Festival Companies based in Los Angeles, CA. This annual scholarship is the Schurgin Family Foundation’s legacy, giving back to an industry that brought them so much joy and success.
One (1) 5,000 USD award will be made annually to a full time undergraduate student indicating a preference for a career in retail real estate, real estate development or shopping center leasing. This scholarship will also cover the cost of attending the award ceremony in Las Vegas at the annual convention.
The scholarship award check will be made out jointly to the student and to the university the student indicates s/he will be attending full-time during the next academic year to be maintained on account. The funds will be applied to tuition in accordance with university policies.
The applicant must be an American Citizen who is a junior or senior undergraduate degree seeking candidate for the upcoming fall academic term at an accredited college or university with a GPA in excess of a 3.0 GPA.

The deadline to submit an application was Tuesday, April 15, 2008 (midnight ET).
All applications are confidential and will be reviewed by the ICSC Foundation Scholarship Committee and ICSC staff only. Up to one (1) scholarship award will be announced in mid-April 2008 and presented in May 2008 at RECon, The Global Real Estate Convention in Las Vegas, NV.
