| SM PRIME HOLDINGS WINS 2011 ASIA COMMUNITY SUPPORT AWARD FROM THE FOUNDATION OF THE ICSC New York, November 3, 2011 – The Foundation of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) is pleased to announce that SM Prime Holdings, in Manila, Philippines has won the 2011 Asia Community Support Award for its "Breaking the Poverty Chain" campaign.
Upon the 25th anniversary of SM Prime Holdings’ SM North Edsa Mall, the mall owners wanted to generate a campaign that would give back to the local community. Together in partnership with Gawad Kalinga, the two companies teamed up to establish the SM City GK Village aimed to build 25 homes for 25 poverty stricken families. |
| PRIMARIS REIT WINS 2011 CANADIAN COMMUNITY SUPPORT AWARD New York, October 21, 2011 –The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Foundation is pleased to announce that Primaris REIT’s Dufferin Mall, located in Toronto, Ontario, has won the 2011 Canadian Community Support Award for its "Something to Wear" clothing drive campaign.
According to the Canadian Women’s Foundation, on any given day in Canada more than 3,000 women along with their 2,500 children are living in emergency shelters to escape domestic violence. Dufferin Mall decided to make a significant contribution to the needs of its community and asked its tenants and shoppers to join in the "Something to Wear" clothing drive with the tagline; "Some women have nothing to wear.
