BCSC (formerly known as the British Council of Shopping Centres) was established in 1983 to provide an organization for those engaged in shopping and shopping centre development and management. Since its formation, BCSC has built up a thriving membership of some 2,900+ members, representative of virtually every aspect of shopping centre activity. BCSC is a company limited by guarantee and registered in England and is managed by a Board which is representative of owners, developers, managers, retailers and consultants. Membership is open to corporate bodies and their employees.
BCSC Activities:
- Producing a wide variety of publications.
- Undertaking research and sharing results though publications and seminars
- Committees and task forces to which members are able to contribute
- Hosting events such as our seminars and luncheon meetings, study tours, conferences and our annual dinner.
- Overseeing training programmes such as the BCSC Diploma in Shopping Centre Management.
- Promoting a series of awards such as the BCSC Golds, BCSC Town Centre Environment Awards and the Purple Apple Marketing Awards.
