The Japan Council of Shopping Centers (J.C.S.C.) was founded in April 1973 to ensure sound development and the popularization of shopping centers in Japan as well as to contribute to the national lifestyle. In April 1975 it was incorporated under the authority of the Ministry of International Trade and Industry. Comprised of more than 850 member corporations, the Association celebrated its 20th anniversary in April 1993.
JCSC has been focusing on three major themes: responding to public policies, providing management data on shopping centers at home and abroad, and conducting management research through diversified training programs. We are committed to keeping abreast of social and economic changes and helping both our industry and the nation achieve continued prosperity.
Major activities include monitoring public policy, management research, educational training, research and information activities, public relations and organization.
