The Tax Rebate Checks Are in the Mail:
Reinvigorating the Economy?
The housing bubble popped in 2005 and in the subsequent
years the ripple effects spanned every sector
of the economy and were felt throughout the global
financial sector. Commercial real estate was not
immune from the housing market fallout as liquidity dried up for all forms of real estate. But, at mid-year,
federal tax rebate checks are beginning to flow. Will
these rebates reinvigorate the economic landscape
or simply postpone the problems? The speaker will
discuss these and other economic issues facing the
U.S. economy during this election year and what they
mean for the U.S. and global economic outlook.

10:45 am - 12:00 noon
The Global Impact of the 2008 U.S.
Presidential Election
For the first time in more than 50 years no incumbent
U.S. President or Vice President is seeking another
term in the White House. Thus, the outcome of this
year’s historic presidential election will signify monumental
change throughout America and around the
world. We invite you to hear the perspectives and
prognostications of political experts covering the
world economy, diplomacy, the environment and
other challenges that lie ahead. Hear their thoughts
on what a new Administration will mean to the global
business community and the world at large.

2. Seal the Deal: Brokers and Managers
Working Together
The combined expertise of a broker and a property
manager, working together in a harmonious relationship,
can help “seal a deal” faster and more often
than if each one worked separately. Coming together
and learning what each other has to offer allows
brokers and managers the opportunity to create an
attractive deal for the potential tenant and/or buyer –
creating a “win! win!” for everyone.
Join a panel of seasoned executives to discuss and
explore various factors involved in creating the perfect
relationship between a leasing agent/broker and property manager and differences between a property
manager and an asset manager and how they
play a part in deal negotiations.

3. Staying Ahead of the Curve:
Empowering Future Leaders
As the Next Generation of shopping center professionals

that will shape the future of the economy and industry.
How do up-and-coming business professionals
stay ahead of the curve in this rapidly changing corporate
climate? In this session a panel of experts will
speak to these trends and concerns while providing
valuable information for your professional career.

and Roadblocks
As the winds of political fortune shift, how do you
keep your project on track? When the public votes,
administrations often change. And since it often takes
longer than four years to get a project approved,
developed, and opened, how do you make sure you
don’t hit unexpected roadblocks when these changes
in administration and political climate occur? A panel

5. Outlet Retailing’s Global Reach, Strength
and Adaptability
With nearly 400 factory outlet projects operating or
planned in almost every part of the world, the concept
is showing uncommon strength in virtually every
market. Outlet developers and retailers from around
the world meet in this dynamic session to discuss how
they identify challenges and solve them through the
sector’s unique set of skills and adaptability. On everyone’s
minds for 2008 are three hot topics: First, are we
heading for a global recession? If so, how do we grow
our business while remaining cautious? Second, will
online retailing erode our unique proposition? If
online shopping is a threat, how should we prepare
for it? And, third, how will sustainability affect outlet
retailing in 2008? How will the outlet industry embrace
the green agenda in order to satisfy tenant and consumer
demand?
