Contrasting Cultures Tour (12 July, 09:00 - 16:00)

Enjoy the heritage of Singapore in this specially organised tour that takes you to Little India, Arab Street and Chinatown.

At Little India, be charmed by the many shops selling spices, snacks, colourful saris, glittering jewellery, accessories, brassware and other exotic knickknacks.

Visit the magnificent Sultan Mosque in Arab Street. Built in 1928, it is one of the most impressive religious buildings in Singapore. See the sunshine reflected on the massive golden domes and the huge prayer hall.

At Chinatown, visit the Sri Mariamman Temple at South Bridge Road and witness a demonstration of an old age tea serving ceremony as your host expertly brings to boil the tea leaves to their full aroma.

Moving on, you are invited to savour the history and unique lifestyle of the Peranakan people. Take a walk through a spice garden - the original site of the first Botanic Gardens. Visit the Asian Civilisations Museum at Armenian Street. It boasts one of the finest collections of Peranakan exhibits in Southeast Asia.

See rows of colourful Peranakan shophouses dating back to the 1920s and 1930s in Katong and Joo Chiat. This area is famous for a variety of delicious local food and draws people from around the island. The tour includes a Peranakan lunch.

Panoramic City Tour (13 July, 09:00 - 16:00)

An orientation tour of the city begins with a drive through the heart of Singapore’s colonial past for a view of the Padang, Cricket Club, Parliament House and City Hall. En route to Thian Hock Keng Temple, one of the oldest temples in Singapore, the coach will pass Chinatown before stopping at Mount Faber for a panoramic view of the harbour. The tour continues to the National Orchid Garden located within the beautiful Botanic Gardens.

Next, embark on the “Duck Tour”. The fun begins as soon as you board this authentic Vietnam War amphibious craft at Suntec City. During the tour, you will learn about interesting trivia and insights into this unique garden city. Part of the excitement comes from the craft bashing through the park for the big splash. After the “Duck” takes the plunge, you are off to a scenic harbour tour towards the Merlion Park. The iconic Merlion is Singapore’s tourism symbol.

Following lunch, the sightseeing continues with an arts and cultural experience at the performing arts centre, the Esplanade - Theatres on the Bay. It is affectionately called the “durian” by many Singaporeans because of its resemblance to the thorny local fruit. Then, continue the arts journey to one of the island's prominent art museums where you discover the stories behind the works on display.

Note: Transportation, tour guide, admission tickets, gifts and lunch will be provided for all Companion Programme Packages. A minimum of 7 people is required each for the Contrasting Cultures Tour and the Panoramic City Tour.
